Conflict of Interest In our Town "Updated Part 3"

As a result of our March 10th blog Conflict of Interest In our Town "Updated" , I have received many emails. Councilman McAchran in particular has sent the most email with regard to this blog article. Seems he is very agitated and accused me of spreading misinformation and of Slanderous comments. I expressed to Councilman McAchran the information we bring up is public record and since he is presently a public figure, he is then always a subject to public opinion.

One particular email received from Councilman McAchran specifically lashed out stating he never owned any part of the La Placita. This claim came as a result that we had learned that La Placita had received approval from the downtown revitalization group to receive a $25000.00 grant to repave the restaurants parking lot.

Because this news became public knowledge it spread quickly throughout the town. Many were furious to learn La Placita was to be awarded this money since Councilman McAchran had a vested interest in this business. The Councilman is required to make it known if he has a vested interest in a business which; could or would receive financial support in any way through the town. This he did not do and as a result constitutes a "Conflict of Interest".

The following document is public record which shows
Brian McAchran and spouse have a 49% stake in La Placita.

Councilman McAchran is now aware there are citizens in district one who are campaigning his recall. This blog fully supports the recall efforts for Councilman McAchran, Hardesty and any other Council person whom have self agendas, or not honest and lack integrity.

This blog also supports the removal of the current Town Management Ms. Guy and Mr. Rounds. This blog also supports the removal of any other town official or town management personnel of any kind if they are in violation of any laws including town codes.

Anyone interested in running for the council seat in either McAchran's or Hardesty's district can contact us directly through this blog. We can assist you through the process or answer any questions you may have

To all have a GREAT Weekend and don't forget to check out the Rodeo.

Rick,

Here you go again. If you read the name of the company, it says "La Placita II". This is not La Placita Cafe.

Your information is again false and slanderous. Please READ the entire document and again remove the false information. Please also take my advice and attend writting classes.

Thank you

Rick,

Again:

1. I do not own/never have owned any part of La Placita Care.

2. La Placita Cafe has not received any money from the Downtown Association.

3. I have voted on no item which effects La Placita Cafe.

Hopefully this helps clear this issue up for you. Please seek professional help.

Brian

Councilman McAchran:

It seems to me that you have a very hard time reading, thinking and reasoning at the same time. I am very concerned you may have difficulties with comprehension and reasoning and therefore perhaps incapable of representing district one. It seems you may have always had these difficulties. I am referring to you career as a policeman.

I am also very concerned about the way you bully yourself around to get things your way. I have also noted that you have an unstable and very explosive temperament. This may be one of many reasons why Chief Saban forced your retirement after your unfortunate accident.

I was merely pointing out that you do have a vested interest in La Placita Restaurant, Café, II it really does not matter which entity.

I was pointing out to the public that La Placita applied and was approved for the grant to repave your parking lot. I have actual proof of this…

I pointed out that once this was made public, Joe rushed to the Main Street Coalition and told them La Placita would not require the grant.

I never publically stated that you voted on anything with regard to this grant.

I did point out that since you are a Councilman, you should have disclosed your interest in La Placita publically before a grant request was submitted or any other issue which may concern La Placita.

If you truly care about Buckeye and the people who live in district one perhaps you should consider submitting your resignation.

Respectfully:

Rick Fernandez

Rick,

Again you have written statements which are ill-informed, unaware, or just ignorant of how things work. I would strongly encourage you to attend the Town Hall Meeting on Monday, March 30, 2009. This would be an opportunity to educate you on how the government works at a local level, county level, and state level.

Sincerely,

Brian McAchran

Speaking of Police Officers. No one has said much about CouncilMember McAchran. I was reading a blog that I found under Rick Fernandez. http://buckeye-united.blogs... I am going to address McAchran directly. I am posting under a private identity for one reason, and one reason only. Because I can. Not because Im a coward. I will reveal myself when the time is right. My biggest concern right now is that you are very rude and disrespectful to your citizens. We the citizens put you in office and we can take you out. You may have a fallen business venture in La Placita II, but you still have a direct conflict of interest with La Placita Cafe. Your mother owns it. You are not a stupid man. You know I am right. When business meetings are taking place or have in the past at La Placita Cafe and a purchase-card is used it is a conflict. You should not vote on any payables that may contain payment to La Placita. The ARS says that if relatives are considered to have a financial gain it is also a conflict. I would like to know if you have disclosed your interest in another home that you own. The financial documents require this to be listed. I would love to hear your response without rude undertones. I think you can understand the reason the recall packet has been taken out on you. There are to many unanswered questions about you. Do you really benefit from La Placita? What is your connection to the Police Union? Are you really here for the Town? We know its not the money. Are you going to go easy on employees that come out and speak against you like you did when Saban was here? Are you going to continue to interfere with hiring within your police department? Did you know you were involved in a conflict of interest when Carl Johnson did your background? You must say that I raise a lot of questions. I will wait for your response. I hope you can answer truthfully. Thank you.

Thank you for you comment. These are all very good points you raise and the citizens would never no of these if it were not for concerned individuals like yourself. Buckeye is a great place to live with many great people. At this time while we are at a low in growth it is imperative that we clean house and build a better government. We need people who really understand the meaning of integrity, honesty, transparency and fiduciary responsibility and accountability. Cleaning house today will place Buckeye in a better position when the next growth boom hits once again.

Again thank you for your support...

Sincerely:
