A PLAN BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE OF BUCKEYE

GREETINGS TO EVERYONE IN BUCKEYE!!

Citizens For A Better Buckeye (CFABB) is in it’s infant stages and as this group grows and develops it is important to build on the fundamental building block of the group and that is the CITIZENS of the town of Buckeye.

Advocating for and on behalf of the people for a better Buckeye is the main goal of the group. The Citizens of Buckeye are the very people that make the town thrive or fail. A few people in the Town believe that a few privileged insiders have town on the palm of their hand. My friends and neighbors believe differently. We the Citizens of the Town of Buckeye who have chosen to move here from different parts of the country such as Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas, Arkansas, California, Vermont, and Indiana to live a different and improved way of life for our families. Along with the Buckeye Natives we all collectively are the Town of Buckeye and we are the very people who clean up and maintain our neighbor’s front yards while they are away, who help each other when a sudden need comes up, who organize neighborhood watch meetings, who waive at the Firefighters and Police Officers of our town, who participate in organizing and coaching children’s sports.

This is the Town of Buckeye at CFABB. It is because of each and very one of them and their family that we advocate and hold elected officials accountable for their behavior, their decisions and their lack of responsiveness to the fundamental needs of the town. Yes it is true we as a Town, we have needs. For many unexplainable factors the Town Leadership does not seem to have a common vision or direction for the Town and sometimes they seem to be disconnected, out of touch and counter productive to what needs to be done. There is group named “We are Buckeye” who want to gather information about the Town to develop a “strategic plan”. The people they are seeking to interview are “stakeholders” which in bureaucratic jargon is translated to people who we deem to be important. Here is what they write:

“Hank Pasinski, a spokesman for the more than three dozen residents working to lay the

groundwork for a comprehensive strategic plan for Buckeye, told the Town Council

recently that the group has worked hard to develop interview questions that would

provide insight into Buckeye’s stakeholders’ dreams for the town.”

“We want to interview as many citizens as possible from as many different areas as

possible,” Pasinski told town officials. “The wider range of respondents, the more

meaningful and accurate the results would be.”

“While the We Are Buckeye committee has done much since first being formed last

September, “much more needs to be done,” Pasinski said.”

It has been seven months since this committee has been convened and have “done much” but yet I just found out about them this week and my Town is still the same. Have you noticed any improvements so far?

If you are reading this Blog take a moment and share what are your top three priorities for the Town of Buckeye. Let us develop a list of priorities that we may provide the Major and Council Members that they should be continuously be working on to resolve, improve and achieve? Let us help them develop and commit to a vision for the Town. Let us create a vision by the people for the people of the Town of Buckeye.

A great leader's courage to fulfill his vision comes from passion, not position.” – John Maxwell
